Description
Automated external defibrillators (AEDs) are portable electronic devices designed for use by laypeople without medical training when providing first aid. They automatically diagnose cardiac rhythm disturbances and can deliver a defibrillation shock if indicated.
After being switched on, the AED analyzes the victim's heart rhythm and, if necessary, gives the operator voice instructions. These instructions include removing clothing from the victim's chest, placing the electrode pads on the body, and delivering a shock (if indicated).
As of June 2023, AED use is not formally included in the list of first-aid procedures in Russia, but it is recommended in line with international guidelines. Early defibrillation is a key factor in saving lives during cardiac arrest. Using an AED significantly increases the chances of survival by quickly and effectively restoring a normal heart rhythm.
Key Advantages
- - The defibrillator uses biphasic technology, which provides more effective and safer defibrillation;
- - The defibrillator automatically determines whether defibrillation is needed and performs it without the involvement of medical staff;
- - The defibrillator allows discharge energy to be set from 5 to 360 J, enabling use for patients of different ages and weight categories;
- - The defibrillator can reach the required discharge energy within seconds, making it ideal for emergency situations;
- - The defibrillator features voice prompts that help the user perform the defibrillation procedure correctly;
- - The defibrillator is manufactured in Russia, ensuring affordability and reliability.
