Description

CPAP (Constant Positive Airway Pressure) and BIPAP (Biphasic Positive Airway Pressure) devices are used to treat sleep breathing disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

CPAP creates constant positive airway pressure, keeping the airway open during sleep and preventing breathing pauses. BIPAP operates in two modes, applying different pressure levels on inhalation and exhalation, which eases breathing and improves gas exchange.

Indications for use: OSA, COPD, respiratory failure, other sleep breathing disorders. Benefits: reduced OSA and COPD symptoms, improved sleep quality, lower risk of cardiovascular complications.

CPAP/BIPAP devices are generally safe to use, though some patients may experience side effects such as dry mouth, nasal congestion, or skin irritation around the nose. Consult a physician if side effects occur. CPAP/BIPAP devices are an effective treatment for sleep breathing disorders, helping to improve sleep quality, reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications, and improve patients’ quality of life.
